Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology.We exist because our nation’s children spend more time with media and digital activities than they do with their families or in school, which profoundly impacts their social, emotional, and physical development. As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, we provide trustworthy information and tools, as well as an independent forum, so that families can have a choice and a voice about the media they consume.

eSpark Innovative schools are buying iPads for learning, but teachers struggle sorting through 103,000+ available educational apps to find the right fit for students’ unique learning needs. eSpark develops personalized learning plans for students using the most rigorous, engaging, Common-Core aligned third-party educational apps. Students log-in to the eSpark iPad app and immediately dive into the best educational games, instructional videos, and audio books that have been selected for them based on their individual learning needs. Teachers monitor student progress across apps on a comprehensive teacher dashboard. Eleven studies of effectiveness have been conducted, and all definitively prove: eSpark accelerates student achievement at 2 – 5x the typical learning pace.

Flipped Learning NetworkThe mission of the Flipped Learning Network™ is to provide educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources to successfully implement Flipped Learning. The goals of the FLN are to provide professional learning opportunities on Flipped Learning; to conduct, collaborate and disseminate relevant research on Flipped Learning; and to act as the clearinghouse for distributing best and promising practices for current and future “flipped” educators.

Gooru is a free search engine for learning. Teachers and students can use Gooru to search for rich collections of multimedia resources, digital textbooks, videos, games and quizzes created by educators in the Gooru community. Collections are aligned to standards and currently cover every 5th-12th grade math, science and social science topic, with more subjects coming soon.

Comcast Internet EssentialsComcast is the leading telecommunications company delivering video, phone, broadband, and safety and security products to millions of households nationwide. Our Internet Essentials program brings broadband internet into eligible homes that have at least one child receiving free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program.

Power My LearningDeveloped by CFY and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, PowerMyLearning.com is a free, web-based K-12 learning platform for students, educators, and parents. CFY carefully vets the most compelling online educational activities from across the web, and makes them easily accessible and usable in one trusted place.

Studdy BuddyNSTEP is a nonprofit organization whose signature program, Study Buddy – Online Homework Help, links 5th through 12th grade students who are interested in homework help with volunteer high school honor students in a completely online, collaborative program. No child who is looking for help in school should go without quality support for lack of money or resources.

YOUmedia - Chicago Public LibraryYOUmedia is an innovative, 21st century teen learning space housed at the Chicago Public Library’s downtown Harold Washington Library Center. YOUmedia was created to connect young adults, books, media, mentors, and institutions throughout the city of Chicago in one dynamic space designed to inspire collaboration and creativity.
